NHS Minor Ailments Service

Some local pharmacies are now part of the NHS Minor Ailments Service scheme. This means that they can provide walk in services for patients who have a range of common conditions and minor injuries, such as aches and pains, colds, hay fever, and skin rashes.

When pharmacies provide medicines as part of the minor ailment service, you get the medicines on the NHS. If you normally pay a prescription charge, this charge will apply here. If you’re exempt from prescription charges – if you’re over 60, for example – you’ll get the medicine for free.

If your problem is more serious and needs the attention of a GP, your pharmacist will recognise this and advise you to see your GP instead.

NHS Friends & Family Test

We are now conducting the NHS Friends & Family Test. If you have recently experienced our service please click on 'Friend & Family Test' under 'Have your say' on the right hand side of the home screen. We would love to know how you got on.

Self Check-In Screen

We have a facility allowing you to check in for your appointment without having to go to the reception desk. The screen is located in the left hand corner of the waiting area as you approach the reception desk. This will save you having to stand in a queue. Just follow the on-screen instructions. 

Test Results

It is YOUR responsibility to follow up the results of any tests you may have had arranged by your doctor or nurse. You may get details of your results either by telephoning 645 6936 or calling into the practice after 2.00 pm.

Home Visits

House calls are for those people who REALLY are unable to make it to the surgery. One of your doctors is available for emergency visits every weekday from 8am to 6.30 p.m. Please phone 0151 645 6936 before 10.00 to request a home visit

Accident & Emergency

Unless you experience a serious accident or an emergency situation please do not go to the Accident and Emergency Department. The use of this department for minor conditions is an inappropriate use of NHS funds. Speak to us first and if we can't help we will direct you to the most appropriate place. 

Primary Care Advice Liaison

Primary Care Advice Liaison

Wirral Citizens Advice Bureau provides a service in this practice through the Primary Care Advice Liaison (PCAL) team.

We provide advice and support for patients who are suffering from mild to moderate mental health conditions by advising on issues that could affect their condition, or be affected by the condition.

One aim is to help patients with practical issues in order to reduce stress and anxiety that could cause a worsening of the condition, or be a barrier to recovery. We also work towards empowering the patient to deal with the issues themselves.  We can refer patients who need extended care to Advocacy in Wirral, with whom we work in partnership. They are based in Woodside, Birkenhead and offer further support for longer periods.

Referral to the Primary Care Advice Liaison (PCAL) service is through GP’s, nurses, counsellors or other members of the Practice Team. A 45 minute appointment can be made through the reception.
